Find your next job in Kansas with this new website

2 April 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) is launching a new resource to help job seekers find their next career.

KDOL announced in a press release on Tuesday, April 2 that its Labor Market Information Services (LMIS) is unveiling a new section on its website to help guide Kansans on their career paths. The new section, dubbed Today’s Occupations, Tomorrow’s Opportunities (T.O.T.O), provides users with tools and information for exploring new career opportunities.

“As the professional landscape continues to evolve, we understand the importance of equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge needed for successful career navigation,” said Secretary Amber Shultz. “T.O.T.O. is not just a website; it’s a comprehensive platform dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed, confident and fulfilling career choices.”

KDOL Communications Director Becky Shaffer says this is an expansion to the recently updated Kansas Labor Information Center (KLIC) website. The site offers Kansans a variety of interactive tools, data and informational content for the purpose of assisting people through their career journeys. Resources offered on this site include:

O*NET – Gives resources to help with career tasks, skills and salary information for more than 900 occupations alongside personalized career suggestions based on interests and work experience.

CareerOneStop – Has tools to help users find the right job based on education and training information.

Apprenticeship and Career Training – Provides information on apprenticeships to help prepare users for full-time jobs.

Shaffer says a career exploration application will be available to introduce students to careers of interest they might be unaware of. This “Reality Check” application will be available to help students find careers to support their lifestyles. To access the new T.O.T.O website, click here.
