Kansas stroke survivor thankful to be alive after ignoring signs

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The final public hearing on the proposed Wichita school closures will be Thursday, Feb. 29, at 6 p.m.
It will be at the Alvin E. Morris Administrative Center at 903 S. Edgemoor. Those who desire to speak before the Board of Education must register in advance with the clerk by calling 316-973-4553.
On Feb. 12, the board heard a recommendation to close six schools by the end of the year. It is an effort to cut a minimum of $16 million.
The six schools are:
Clark Elementary
Cleaveland Traditional College and Career Readiness Magnet Elementary
Park Elementary
Payne Elementary
Hadley Middle School
Jardine STEM and Career Explorations Academy Magnet Middle School

The Board of Education will vote on the proposed school closures on Monday, March 4, at 6 p.m. at North High School (1437 Rochester).
