What we’re Tracking
Clear sky tonight
Windy with evening storms Saturday
More active weather pattern for next week
Tonight, winds will keep us fairly mild with temperatures in the middle 40s. We will maintain a east southeast wind from 10-15 mph into the overnight hours. Cloud cover will continue to dissipate through the evening.
Our next system moves in for the middle of the weekend with showers and storms possible late Saturday and into early Sunday. Winds will be very gusty during the daytime with gusts around 40-50mph. Pairing that with the potential for a line of storms to move through in the late afternoon and evening, the main threats with the stronger cells will be damaging wind gusts. There may be some hail embedded in the line, as well.
Once that line of storms moves through, we’ll clear out for Sunday, but we’ll still be windy. Highs should make it up to near 70°, and winds will be gusting to around 30-40mph before relaxing Sunday night into Monday.
As of right now, we may end up with some scattered cloud cover across Northeast Kansas for the solar eclipse on Monday before yet another system moves in by Tuesday. That should bring another slight chance for showers and storms Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
