EXCLUSIVE: KU’s Holly Kersgieter on K-Nation

18 March 2024

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – KU women’s basketball is heading to the NCAA tournament for the second time in three seasons after an eight-year drought from the big dance.

The Jayhawks lost in the second round in 2022, before winning the WNIT in 2023 and are hoping for another run in March this season.

Few players, if any, have been more impactful on the building of this program in Lawrence than now fifth-year senior guard Holly Kersgieter.

Kersgieter, the program’s all-time 3-point record holder, sat down with 27 Sports Director Glenn Kinley for an exclusive one-on-one interview as Kansas prepares for the NCAA tournament.

Kinley and Kersgieter discussed the legacy she leaves behind, KU’s NCAA tournament hopes, the growing of women’s hoops and more.
