TOPEKA (KSNT) – With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, some places around Topeka will be holding events for the special day.
Whether you want to axe your ex, get some cocktails, recreate the pottery scene from the movie “Ghost” or give your kiddos a place to enjoy themselves; the Capital City has you covered this year.

Axe the Ex: Valentine’s Day Event
What? Axe the Ex is an axe-throwing event for all skill levels. Themed cocktails and digital games will also be available.
Who? Everyone is welcome with limited spots available
When? From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Where? Axe and Ale at 115 SE 6th Ave.
XOXO: An Exhibit about Love & Forgiveness
What? A nationally traveling event created by the Museum of Pittsburgh that invites attendees to explore feelings through facial expressions, words, movement, art and other activities.
Who? Everyone is welcome.
When? Regular business hours. The exhibit will be included in the cost of regular admission and starts on Feb. 13.

Open Mic Comedy Night with Top City Comedy
What? Held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday, the Happy Basset Barrel House will be holding an open mic comedy night.
Who? Everyone is welcome, including pets.
When? From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Where? 510 SW 49th St.
What? Reserve a spot for a romantic dinner. For $65 you will get dinner, a choice of wine, cocktails or beer and experience live music by ‘Nate in the Evening.’
Who? Adults and their pets.
When? The event starts at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14.

What? Learn and build with clay with Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Studios LLC. Clay projects will be Valentine’s themed but attendees can make anything they’d like. Costs $45 per person.
Who? Open to all ages but attendees must be 21 years or older to bring, drink, hold “or even look at alcohol.” The event will be limited to 16 people.
When? From 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Feb. 14.

What? Every Wednesday, the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center holds an event aimed at teaching toddlers to use their senses to play, explore create and investigate.
Who? Everyone is welcome. Tickets for adults and children cost $9, $8 for seniors and free for infants under a year old.
