EMPORIA (KSNT) – Emporia State basketball has had its share of ups and downs on both the men’s and women’s side but Wednesday was a good night in White Auditorium.
The Hornets beat the Mules and the Lady Hornets beat the Jennies as ESU sent UCM back to Warrensburg, Mo. with a pair of losses.
Both ESU teams also clinched spots in the MIAA conference tournament with the wins.
Emporia State men’s basketball beat Central Missouri 75-51 to improve to 17-10 overall and 10-9 in league play. The Hornets got 21 points from Alijah Comithier.
Meanwhile, Brian Ostermann’s team picked up one of their bigger ones of the season, beating UCM 76-63. Katie Hornya scored 20 for the home team. The Lady Hornets improve to 12-13 overall and 9-10 in the MIAA.
Both Emporia State basketball teams return to action on Saturday, with another home doubleheader, against Lincoln.
