EMPORIA (KSNT) – It’s a happy Saturday in White Auditorium.

Emporia State beat Lincoln in both men’s and women’s basketball on Saturday. It was the last home games for both ESU hoops squads.

In the men’s game, the Hornets overcame a six-point halftime deficit to win by nine. Alijah Comithier led the team with 24 points. ESU improves to 18-10 overall and 11-9 in MIAA play. The win makes four-in-a-row for ESU men’s basketball.

Doty’s team finishes the year 14-3 at home.

The Lady Hornets beat the Blue Tigers 73-59, thanks to 23 points from Gracie Gilpin. It’s a .500 record across the board for Brian Ostermann’s team in his first year as head coach, as ESU improves to 13-13 overall and 10-10 in conference play.

Both teams have two regular season games left, both on the road. ESU visits Pittsburg State on Wednesday, Feb. 28 before wrapping things up at Washburn on Saturday, March 2.
