Emporia City Commission approves increase to wastewater rates

EMPORIA, Kan. (KSNW) — Emporia’s City Commission approved a 7.14% increase in wastewater rates.

The new rate will go into effect on March 1.

The City says the increase will average $3 per month for households using 5,000 gallons.

The increase will be used towards the bond payment that funded improvements to the Wastewater Plant in 2016-2017.
