Downtown Topeka power outage impacts state buildings

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A power outage is currently impacting several state buildings in downtown Topeka.

At 9:45 a.m., the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) Troop K issued an alert that power in the Capitol Complex was down.

Later at 9:51 a.m., the KHP Troop K issued another alert detailing the buildings being impacted. According to the KHP Troop K, the State House, Landon and Curtis buildings are currently without power.

Evergy is reporting 8 outages in the Captial City with at least 13 customers impacted, according to the Evergy outage map.

Maintenance is aware and working on the situation, according to the KHP.
