Dajuan Harris will be back at KU next year, Self confirms

5 March 2024

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – As expected, Dajuan Harris Jr. will return to KU in 2024-25 for his sixth year in Lawrence.

Harris, who won Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year last season, has played 135 games in a Jayhawk uniform.

Bill Self spoke with the media on Monday and confirmed that Dajuan Harris Jr. will be honored on KU’s Senior Night against K-State on Tuesday. However, Coach Self says Harris already informed him of his plans to return next season. The 2024-25 season will be the last year of eligibility for KU’s veteran point guard.

Self said seven seniors will be honored: Dajuan Harris, Kevin McCullar, Parker Braun, Patrick Cassidy, Nick Timberlake and Michael Jankovich. Only four of them will give speeches: Braun, Timberlake, Jankovich and Dickinson. McCullar spoke at senior night last season.

Dickinson said the fact that he’s giving a speech doesn’t necessarily mean this is his last game in Allen Fieldhouse.

“This doesn’t mean that it’s it for me,” Dickinson said. “…If it is it for me, I want to be able to go through with [Senior Night.]”
