Clouds build Wednesday ahead of widespread rain on Thursday

5 March 2024

What We’re Tracking

A little cooler week

Better rain chances ahead

Sunny by the weekend

Partly cloudy and cool tonight as temperatures once again fall into the 30s. Most of the region should bottom out in the middle 30s before starting to warm up again on Wednesday. We should all be in the lower to middle 60s for high temperatures through midweek before our next system moves in.

The weather pattern looks like it’s starting to get a bit more active as rain becomes likely late Wednesday night and into Thursday. We may even see showers lingering into Friday, as well. Along with the showers, a few thunderstorms are also possible. We’re likely to see some beneficial rain with this system, too, with a widespread 0.25″-0.5″ of rain expected with locally higher amounts possible in the eastern half of the area.

Highs get a bit cooler with the rain chances, though. We’re looking at middle 50s for the last half of next week, which is quite a bit closer to the average for this time of the year. That cooler weather will likely carry over into the following weekend, as well. However, the weekend looks sunny and temperatures rebound a bit on Sunday back into the lower 60s. We continue to rebound temperatures-wise as we kick off next week. With quite a bit of sunshine, we’ll eventually make it into the upper 60s and lowers 70s for next Monday.
