Cloud cover begins to exit through the weekend as temperatures warm

26 January 2024

Most of the rain tonight should stay south of our area, but we can’t rule out a bit of drizzle in our southeastern counties. Other than that, we get a chance to dry out for the next several days! Overnight lows dip into the lower 30s tonight as patchy fog tries to redevelop. The good news is, it won’t be nearly as widespread as what we’ve seen over the last few nights.

Cloud cover remains in place for Saturday, and that looks to limit warming to the upper 30s to near 40°. Some western communities may get a glimpse of the sun late Saturday afternoon, but most of the area will have to wait for later on Sunday to finally clear our clouds out. Highs for Sunday will be dependent on when the clouds clear, with western counties making it into the middle 40s with cooler numbers possible for the eastern half of the area.

Looking ahead into next week, we’re looking at a warmer and drier weather pattern setting up. Already by Monday, we could see high temperatures in the lower to middle 50s, and that mild weather could carry us at least into the middle of next week! We may be, briefly, cooler Wednesday, but highs remain in the 50s through next Friday.
