TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Arab Shrine Circus is back in town this weekend.
The Shriners have been hosting the circus in Topeka for 85 years. KSNT 27 news spoke to their public relations director, John Sidwell. He said they’ve had several thousand guests in the first two days already, and that the attractions are as good as ever this year.
“They’ve got a high wire act and they’ve got a guy shooting out of a cannon,” Sidwell said. “They’ve got a little dog show, elephant show. (We’re) doing pretty well! We’ve got a lot of smiling faces around here, and happy kids!”
He said they’ve heard some concerns about the cost of tickets and where to buy them. The best way, he said, is to purchase tickets at the door and to be cautious of third-party sellers.
“If you go to a third-market vendor, there’s all sorts of surcharges,” he said, “and I’m actually seeing some prices where it’s more than twice what the tickets actually cost.”
If you want to catch the circus, your last chance is February 25 with start times at 12:30pm and 5:30pm.
