Child hit by car in Haysville

HAYSVILLE, Kan. (KSNW) — An 11-year-old girl on a bike was hit by a car as she was crossing the street at a crosswalk Thursday morning.

It happened around 6:45 in the 600 block of West Sarah Lane in Haysville.

The crash scene is a short distance from Haysville schools.

Haysville Police Chief Jeff Whitfield says a westbound car hit the girl. He said there are regular street crossing signs but no traffic signals or flashing lights. The driver stopped immediately and helped.

The child was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
