Chiefs refuse to let 49ers use Super Bowl practice facility: reports

LAS VEGAS — Despite the recent rain in Las Vegas, no one is raining on Travis Kelce’s parade these days.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s star power is on full display in Las Vegas this week as his team prepares for Super Bowl LVIII vs the San Francisco 49ers.
Swarms of reporters surrounded Kelce at Super Bowl opening night Monday, and again on Tuesday, dozens of media members were packed around the Chiefs star hoping to get a question in.
Most questions weren’t even about football but instead were about his relationship with Taylor Swift, his podcast with brother Jason Kelce, and everything else else going on in his life.
Walking around the Chiefs’ training facility Tuesday, it kind of feels like Kelce and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes are part of Vegas’ famous “Rat Pack.”
Some fans might even think Kelce is bigger than Elvis Presley. FOX4 asked his Chiefs teammates if that’s possible, and the reactions were split.
“I’d say so,” Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend said. “There’s a lot of Elvis impersonators, but I want to see more Travis Kelce impersonators. That’s what they need on the Strip.”
“I don’t know about that,” center Creed Humphrey said with a laugh. “Elvis is pretty popular, but Trav’s awesome, such a loveable guy. Everybody seems to love him, so he’s just a great guy to be around.”
“Man, I’ll tell you what, that guy is popular, isn’t he?” fellow TE Blake Bell said. “Well I think so. Well, Elvis is pretty popular as well, but he’s close.”
“Than Elvis?” Chiefs safety Justin Reid asked. “Elvis is a hard guy to beat. You’re talking about a Las Vegas legend. But worldwide scale, he probably is, and he deserves it, the type of player that he is.”
Who knows? But Kelce’s certainly trying to add to his legendary status this weekend at Super Bowl LVIII.
