KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with some injury woes during the Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills.

Safety Mike Edwards has been ruled out of the game with a concussion. Edwards went down in the first quarter and was quickly sent to the locker room for evaluation.

The veteran safety has been a key pickup for the Chiefs since stepping into a starting role with second-year safety Bryan Cook being placed on injured reserve in Week 14.

Edwards has been a part of some impactful plays like sending a lateral for Cook’s long fumble return touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9, a 97-yard fumble return for a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18 and an interception against the Dolphins in the Wild Card round.

Edwards has 51 tackles and an interception this season.

Linebacker Willie Gay is also questionable to return with a neck injury; he came into the game being questionable with the same injury.

Cornerback Trent McDuffie also suffered a sprained ankle but got it taped and returned to play.
