Chiefs players and staff reacted to the shooting on social media.

“Please join me in prayer for all the victims in this heinous act,” Linebacker Drue Tranquill said on X (formerly Twitter). “Pray that doctors & first responders would have steady hands & that all would experience full healing.”

“Praying for Kansas City…” Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said on X, adding three praying hands emojis at the end of the post.

“My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by today’s incidents—a huge thank you to the first responders who ran towards the sound of danger,” Offensive lineman Trey Smith said. “You’re the ones who should be celebrated today.”
