Jones will be a free agent if the Chiefs do not franchise tag him before the deadline.

The 29-year-old’s franchise tag is expected to be around $32 million.

The NFL franchise tag deadline is March 5.

Jones expressed his desire to stay in Kansas City at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration on Wednesday.

The Mississippi State product recorded 10.5 sacks this season and led the team with 14 tackles for loss while guiding a top-five NFL defense to back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
