KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid could become the highest-paid coach in football.

The 65-year-old head coach shot down retirement rumors ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, and now rumors are flying around about a new contract for Reid.

Chiefs get $30 million increase in salary cap for 2024

NFL.com reports that the Chiefs and Andy Reid are expected to begin contract negotiations in the next couple of weeks. And their sources believe it will mean a big pay boost for Big Red.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that right now, Reid is believed to be the eighth highest-paid head coach.

General Manager Brett Veach is also up for a new deal. Reportedly one of the league’s lowest-paid general managers right now.

Pelissero reports that these new deals could be done by next month’s annual league meeting.

The new contracts would replace the final two years of the contracts the pair signed following the Chiefs’ 2020 Super Bowl win.
