KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs’ fans watched the AFC Championship game all over the city.
At the Power & Light District, Jody Rhew was DJ’ing at one of the bars and is a massive Chiefs fan.
“The sun is shining, the vibes are going to be good, the energy’s going to be hype, and we’re going to rep the city and rep the kingdom,” Rhew said.
Fans of both teams said that they respected each other’s teams.
“You got to beat the best if you want to continue to be the best,” Rhew said of the Ravens.
“The Chiefs always play hard. You got to respect them. It’s Patrick Mahomes,” Ravens fan Tru Clark said.
Celebrations began after the game clock hit triple zeros at The Combine on Troost Avenue.
“Winner, Winner, chicken dinner. We’ve been here before; we’re used to it,” one fan going by the name War Chief said. “It’s our time. We’ve been through the bottom of the basin. Now, it’s time to reach the mountain tops.”
He said that there wasn’t one player that stood out to him.
“I’m just going to give the game ball to the defense because all week long, we heard about how good the Baltimore Ravens defense was. All week long, we heard we wouldn’t be able to put up with the number one defense. And we showed them who was the number one defense.”
