WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Chess game tables have been installed at Murdock Park, 1808 E. Murdock S.

Murdock Park is located in District 1, Councilman Brandon Johnson’s district.
“This is awesome!” Johnson said about the new installments.
The concrete tables and chairs are bolted down. One of the tables has no bolted seat to allow for wheelchair access.
You will have to bring your own pieces to play.
Johnson says the game tables were able to be installed thanks to a grant from AARP Kansas.
“Our Wichita Park & Recreation team worked to get these ordered and installed,” said Johnson.
He says you can expect to see chess tournaments at Murdock Park, Naftzger Park and soon in Fairmount Park.
