WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The 67th annual Cars for Charities show will be at Century II this weekend. There will be 300 cars from around the country. Ticket sales will go to AbilityPoint and Starkey.
“It’s really important for us to turn this show into a charity event and raise money for our great charities and our community,” Cars for Charities board member Dre Holmes said. “And we do that, and that’s what makes us the most proud.”
There will also be a Kids Zone with face painting, inflatables, and model car making. Kids 11 and under get in free.
“We love cars,” Holmes said. “We love the charity aspect of getting money raised for these two great charities that are near and dear to our hearts and really do a lot of great work in the community.”
David Austin with AbilityPoint says this is a huge fundraiser for them.
“One hundred percent of all the proceeds are given to the two of us,” Austin said. “And because of that, we’re able to do programing and have our educational events and social programs that go on. And Starkey, I’m sure, gets to do a lot of amazing, great things, too, for the clients that they serve. You know, two great organizations that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
