(KTXL) – A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of Stanley cups from a retail store in northern California.
The woman, whose name was not released by police, had reportedly stolen the cups from an unnamed retail store in Roseville, according to the Roseville Police Department. Officers responded to the store after staff said they watched her wheel “a shopping cart” full of the merchandise out of the store, the department on Facebook.
Workers told police she then loaded the cups into her car.
Officers caught up to the suspect and pulled her over as she attempted to enter the highway. A search of the vehicle turned up 65 Stanley water bottles and cups.
The Roseville Police Department later shared an image of the cups they found in the suspect’s car (see the video above). They also posted a picture of the cups covering a squad car.

The stolen merchandise was valued at around $2,500, police said.
The 23-year-old suspect, from Sacramento, has been arrested on suspicion of grand theft, police said.
“While Stanley Quenchers are all the rage, we strongly advise against turning to crime to fulfill your hydration habits,” the Roseville Police Department wrote in its Facebook post.
In recent years, Stanley — the brand that makes the insulated flasks — has increased revenue tenfold thanks in large part to sales of its Quenchers (the 64-ounce mug/flasks): CNBC recently estimated that Stanley’s annual sales in 2023 could top $750 million, versus the $73 million the company reported in 2019.
The Quenchers, specifically, have also become a coveted item among fans. Viral videos shared to social media earlier this week showed Target shoppers waiting in line to purchase limited-edition Stanley cups, which sell for up to $50.
“Stanley definitely knows what they are doing. Everyone and their mom wants one,” one TikTok user wrote of the commotion surrounding the cups. “IDK I still can’t wrap my head around paying that much for a cup.”
