BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a scam caller who is impersonating a deputy.
The BCSO says they have received multiple reports of people receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be a duty, telling them that they have failed to show up for jury duty.
“If you receive a call like this and are unsure whether it is a scam, please contact the Butler County District Court Clerk’s Office immediately at 316-322-4370 to verify the validity of the call,” said the BCSO.
The BCSO says they will never request money, gift cards or any form of financial transaction.
“Be vigilant and do not provide any personal information or make any payments if you receive a call of this nature,” said the BCSO.
