Avery Johnson opts in for new college football video game

23 February 2024

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – K-State’s quarterback will be featured in the first EA Sports college football video game in more than a decade.

College Football 25 is expected to be released this summer and Avery Johnson is in.

“I’m in the game,” Johnson said in a caption on Instagram Friday afternoon.

The rising sophomore showed flashed of greatness as a true freshman in 2023, including a five touchdown performance against Texas Tech.

The game, which is currently in the works, will reportedly feature all 134 FBS college football teams. It will be the first college football video game by EA since 2014.

Up to 85 players per school will initially appear on rosters in the game, according to ESPN. ESPN also reports that any athlete who agrees to have their name, image and likeness featured in the game will receiver $600 and a copy of the new video game.

EA Sports teased the game with a preview video on Feb. 15. A more extensive reveal is expected to come in May, with the game set to be released in the summer of 2024.

Johnson joined K-Nation for an exclusive interview in early February to discuss his confidence and his loyalty to K-State. Click here to watch.

KU’s Jalon Daniels will also participate in game.
