The statement from Attorney Royce West reads:

“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday.

Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all the necessary steps to address this situation responsibly. Any and all requests can be directed to his attorney Mr. Royce West of West & Associates, LLP.”

A Corvette believed to be registered or leased to Rice crashed on North Central Expressway at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday. Law enforcement confirmed with The Dallas Morning News that police were looking for him “in connection with the accident.”

TMZ also published photos of the crash site and reported that six cars were involved.

Rice’s involvement in the crash is currently unclear.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a driver in a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane and lost control of their vehicles.

This caused the Corvette and Lamborghini to crash, resulting in four other vehicles to crash, giving minor injuries to four people inside the other four cars, with two people going to the hospital.

According to police, all occupants in the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without checking on anyone or exchanging for information.

The Dallas Morning News states that a Dallas police call sheet lists “Rice as the suspected driver of the Corvette.”

Rice is from the Dallas area and graduated from SMU. He was the Chiefs leading receiver for the 2023 season and set the NFL record for most playoff receptions by a rookie, catching 26 passes en route to a Super Bowl.
