What We’re Tracking
Dangerous wind chills this morning
Back to normal temperatures by Monday
Chances for rain and/or a wintry mix next week
**WIND CHILL ADVISORY** – In effect for the entire area from now until noon Saturday.
Temperatures this morning are in the single digits below zero with wind chills around -20° to -25°. Today looks to be another cold one, but the good news is winds won’t be as strong in the afternoon hours. Temperatures climb to the middle teens.
The stretch of bitter cold doesn’t last quite as long as our first one, and by Sunday and Monday high temperatures should make it into the middle to upper 30s and even some lower 40s before our next chance for precipitation arrives early next week.
As it stands right now, the main precipitation type for early next week appears to be rain, but there are some indications that we may end up seeing a wintry mix in the morning hours of Monday and Tuesday before transitioning back to rain. It’s a bit too early to tell exact details on timing and impacts, but just know that there may end up being some slick roadways for your morning commutes Monday and Tuesday.
Another round of rain moves in late Wednesday and into Thursday, but our temperatures manage to remain near normal levels for this time of the year. Highs are expected to be near 40° with overnight lows in the lower 30s.
