Another suspect arrested in fatal Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department said it has arrested another person in connection to a fatal shooting.

Police said they arrested a 27-year-old in the 1300 block of S. Santa Fe Street around 2 a.m. Saturday. The first suspect, 37, was arrested on Jan. 18.

The shooting happened around 5:10 a.m. on Jan. 16. Officers were called to the 1000 block of S. Market to investigate shots fired. Officers searched the area but found no scene, victim or witnesses.


Deputies help fight fire in southeast Kansas

Police were called back to the area around 5:20 a.m. after 35-year-old Ladonte Ostrander was found with a gunshot wound in the 900 block of S. Market. EMS transported him to a hospital where he died minutes later.
