Kansas Highway Patrol identifies man struck and killed by Wichita Police Department patrol vehicle

SHAWNEE, Kan. (WDAF) — An alleged armed robbery suspect was shot by police at a QuikTrip off of Shawnee Mission Parkway on Sunday.
The Shawnee Police Department (SPD) was initially called about gunshots coming from a truck along K-7. Around 11 a.m. while investigating, police say they responded to a subsequent incident of a robbery at a QuikTrip at the 20600 block of Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee.
SPD officials say once officers got to the QuikTrip, they were told that a gun was fired from inside the business. Police fired shots at an alleged armed suspect at the entrance, according to Shawnee PD. The suspect was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
He later died from his injuries.
No one else was injured in the shooting, and Shawnee PD says they are not looking for any other suspects in this case. Johnson County Officer-Involved Critical Incident Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
