Google reveals plans for a new $1 billion data center in Kansas City

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Utilities Department is warning residents to avoid contact with two creeks due to a sewage overflow.
On Wednesday, a sewer line was obstructed by build-up causing it to overflow through a manhole. the incident resulted in an unknown amount of sewage being released into portions of Deer Creek and Shunganunga Creek.
As a result, the Topeka Utilities Department is telling residents to avoid the waterway and to keep pets out of the creeks.
The advisory starts with Deer Creek at Southeast 10th Street east of Deer Creek Parkway and continues north toward Southeast 6th Street and onto Southeast 2nd Street where Deer Creek enters the Shunganunga Creek north of Southeast 2nd and Southeast Norwood Street. From there, the Shunganunga Creek goes east to the Kansas River, according to the Utilities Department.
The advisory will be in effect until further notice, according to the Utilities Department.
