TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka’s largest employer gave some local high schoolers an up-close look at career opportunities beyond graduation.
Advisors Excel hosted more than 100 local students from 10 different high schools on Tuesday. Students learned about jobs and career options after school. It also featured sessions on job skills such as interviewing.
“What they need to expect when they’re interviewing for jobs and what it’s like to have a real job after school,” Director of Community Relations Tracy Khounsavanh Killough. “It’s been really cool to have this chance to connect with kids, to connect with the youth in our community, and let them know that they matter and we’re excited to support them.”
The event ended with a motivational speech from its co-founder, Cody Foster.
