A warm and pleasant weekend ahead

23 February 2024

We continue to feel the effects of a cold front that moved through during the middle of the week. Many of us are off to a colder start this morning but it is nothing that your winter coat cannot handle.

That mid-week system is way off to our east as high pressure builds back in from the west. The start to the weekend will be dry and sunny.

A northwesterly breeze will keep us from warming into the 70s but afternoon highs in the 50s and 60s will still be pleasant.

Fire concerns will still need to be monitored due to breezy, dry, and warm conditions into and over the weekend. Winds will be even stronger by Monday as our next storm system approaches.

Temperatures will be very warm into the start of next week due to the strong southerly flow. By Tuesday, a chance for moisture will begin to develop. It will start as a chance for rain but as colder air starts to move in to the north and west Tuesday evening there could be some snow that mixes in.

We should be able dry back out by the middle of the week and it will be much colder. The winter temperatures will not stick around for too long though. We turn spring-like again by the end of next week but will also need to continue to monitor potential for grassfires due to strong winds, warmth, and dry conditions.
