A couple more nice days before a colder turn this weekend

14 February 2024

We have another nice day ahead. A breezy south wind will be the price we have to pay for it but this is what will also send us back into the 50s and 60s.

Our neighbors up the interstate will also see pleasant conditions today. Great news considering how cold last year’s victory parade was.

Wintry and wet weather in the region continues to take a northerly track which is why we have stayed dry. However, there could be some moisture nearby at times over the next couple of days.

Should this happen it will mainly be to our north. There is a small chance the Kansas/Nebraska line gets skimmed by a few raindrops or snowflakes late Thursday into Friday.

Colder air will be moving in during this time as a cold front sags south. Thursday will not be too chilly but Friday will feel more like winter.

Moisture associated with this next system still does not look promising but remains in the picture. Some rain will be possible Friday mainly between Central and Eastern Kansas, a few snowflakes could mix in farther north.

As any moisture moves out to the east, Western Kansas could get skimmed with some snow Friday. Any accumulation will be very little to none.

Saturday will be chilly but we will be back into the 60s by next week. Some cities will get close to 70 by the middle of the week.
