KSN Summer Road Trip heads to Ness City

13 June 2023

NESS CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — KSN has wanted to visit Ness City again, so we’re making it happen. The Summer Road Trip team should arrive around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13. Visit us at Ness County Museum/More Than Coffee, 121 S Pennsylvania Ave. We’ll be able to stay about an hour before we have to get back on the road.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, just over 1,300 people call Ness City home, and the median household income is about $74,500.

The four-story old Ness County Bank Building is known as the Skyscraper of the Plains. When it was built in the late 1880s, it was the tallest building west of Topeka in Kansas. The Ness County Bank Building Foundation Inc. is raising money for critical restorations of the skyscraper.
