Kansas candy company to close after 68 years

8 April 2024

DEXTER, Kan. (KSNW) – A Kansas candy company has announced that it will soon be closing its doors after 68 years in business.

Henry’s Candy Co., located in Dexter, Kansas, made the announcement on Friday via Facebook:

I have made a very hard decision to close the store down by May 31st!!! I am no longer able to do it on my own anymore, after losing my mom and sister it has never been the same!!! We all gave our lives to keeping it open, and i spent all my life in it as far back as i can remember and really never was able to have a life outside of the store until now. I am engaged to a wonderful man and plan on getting married soon, so its time i move on with my life!!! I want to say how very much i appreciate my loyal customers and that is what i will miss most!!! Without you we would have been out of business years ago!!! I will try and keep you updated if the situation changes coming up!!! Thanks for all the years in business!!!!”

The store is located at 21172 Kansas Highway 15 in Dexter. They are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
