LAWRENCE (KSNT) – KU softball picked up its fourth-straight win, beating No. 13 Baylor Thursday night.
The Jayhawks beat the Bears 3-2 at Arrocha Ballpark, behind big efforts from Topeka natives Kasey Hamilton and Campbell Bagshaw.
KU and Baylor stayed locked at zero until Bagshaw drove in the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Jayhawk sophomore brought home all three of the Jayhawks’ runs, roping a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to give KU the lead and ultimately the win.
Hamilton, also a Washburn Rural graduate, threw all seven innings, striking out three and earning her seventh win of the season.
KU took game one of the series, but is back in action against Baylor on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 at noon.
