WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita State University Shockers tried to make a late-inning comeback but fell short, losing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Tuesday night, 8-6.

After the Shockers jumped ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, the Huskers used the third and fourth innings to score seven total runs, four in the third and three in the fourth. They would plate one more in the seventh.

Wichita State added three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and even had the game-tying run at the plate in the ninth, but a groundout to first base sealed the win for Nebraska.
