Junction City animal shelter fights for more space, facility upgrades

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A handful of community organizations and advocates will soon gather to honor victims and educate about community health resources.
On April 9, the Oxford House, PARS and many others will gather at Willow Park in Central Topeka. Participants will come together and create a trail of remembrance containing pictures and art of loved ones who died from fentanyl and other drugs.
There will also be games, food and activities for people of all ages. Most importantly, education about resources and support available to the community.
“Sometimes you feel like if you’re in a down spot or you’re going through a hard time, you feel like the whole world is stacked against you,” Organizer Amber Saale-Burger said. “If our community can come together and show that they actually care, I think that’s a great idea.”
