HIAWATHA (KSNT) – On Friday, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) shared its statistics for the month of February.
In total, the BCSO received on average 93 calls a day for a total of 2689 calls in February. Of those calls 211 were ‘911’ calls and 2478 were non-emergency calls.
Sheriff John D. Merchant said the department has received a number of positive comments from the public on the statistics the department has been sharing. He said he plans on continuing to share the figures with the public.
“I feel it gives the taxpayers an idea of where and how their money is being spent,” Merchant said. “I am very fortunate to have dedicated staff who enjoys and appreciates the challenges of working for the public.”
