KU softball upsets No. 17 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KSNT) – Jayhawk softball got its biggest win on the early season on Saturday in Texas.

The ‘Hawks beat No. 17 Texas A&M 1-0. It’s a ranked win and one that comes in the Aggies backyard for the Texas A&M Invitational.

The win was littered with local talent, including three stars from the same Topeka high school. Washburn Rural graduate Kasey Hamilton tossed a complete game shutout from the circle. Meanwhile, another former Lady Blue, Olivia Bruno, delivered the games only run with a solo home run in the seventh inning.

WRHS graduate Campbell Bagshaw played first base in the win and teamed up with Hamilton for a sweet double-play in the first inning.

Kansas extends its winning streak to five with the win and improves to 8-5-1 overall on the season.
