TOPEKA (KSNT) – Shawnee County courts are increasing pay for those who take part in jury duty.
Jurors will now receive $20 per day, plus mileage reimbursement to and from the courthouse. Previously, jurors received $10 per day. This is the first pay increase since 2011.
The court administration included the change in their 2024 budget, and the Shawnee County Board of Commissioners stamped their approval on the decision on Feb. 15.
The raise is effective as of Jan. 1 of this year.
