27 News: Shots fired at Union Station

KANSAS CITY (KSNT) – Several people were shot west of Union Station near the garage during the Chiefs Super Bowl Parade.

Two armed people are in custody for further investigation, according to law enforcement.

Kansas City Police are asking people to exit the area as quickly and safely as possible and to avoid the parking garage so they can provide care to shooting victims.

Police are releasing the scene and requesting witnesses to go to the southwest corner of Pershing and Main.

Kansas City Police are working to provide care to those injured.

Governor Laura Kelly announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she has been safely evacuated.
