Topeka staff fix thousands of road issues in pothole emergency

12 February 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – City of Topeka work crews’ all-hands-on-deck approach to the local pothole problems has paid off.

Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka said in a press release that work crews filled nearly 8,000 potholes on the city’s streets during the recent 11-day pothole emergency. A little more than 9,000 potholes have been fixed so far for 2024.

The four city crews dedicated to fixing potholes have returned to their normal pothole patching routine. These crews will continue to focus on filling the potholes in residential areas not addressed during the emergency declaration.
