12 February 2024

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The City of Manhattan provided a transit alert for the Fremont Street reconstruction project on Monday.

The City of Manhattan announced on social media that starting on Feb. 12, Fremont Street will be closed between 12th and 14th Street to rebuild the street, construct a new Flint Hills ATA bus stop and relocate a water main and storm sewer. The closure will also block traffic at the Fremont and 14th Street intersection.

The closure is for the second phase of the reconstruction project and is estimated to take 10 months to complete, according to the city.

To access 14th Street from Fremont Street, detours will be open from Poyntz Avenue, Anderson Avenue or Bluemont Avenue. The City Park will be accessible through Central Park Road from Fremont and 14th Streets. North Park Road will be closed at Fremont throughout the project, according to the city.
