NORTHEAST KANSAS (KSNT) – K-Nation’s coverage stretched from the Sunflower State all the way to Las Vegas.

This week’s show begins with a recap of college basketball, including the men’s 300th Sunflower Showdown that made for an instant classic in Manhattan.

K-State took down No. 4 Kansas 75-70 in an overtime thriller at Bramlage Coliseum. The Kevin McCullar-less Jayhawks bounced back by gutting out a win over No. 13 Baylor in Lawrence Saturday night. The Wildcats, however, dropped one Saturday in Utah, losing 72-66 to No. 21 BYU.

No. 8 K-State women’s basketball snapped a two-game losing streak with a home win over Oklahoma State. The KU women’s squad also picked up a home win, beating Houston in a game where Taiyanna Jackson became the program’s all-time blocks leader with 270.

Two former Wildcats are playing in the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. K-Nation’s Glenn Kinley sits down with family members of both NFL rookies in Las Vegas before the big game.

Meanwhile back in Kansas, Glenn Kinley details the culture change that’s driving a program turnaround for KU softball. Plus, Topeka native Kasey Hamilton is this year’s winner of a prestigious KU award.

K-State football’s new starting quarterback Avery Johnson joins the show in an exclusive one-on-one interview with Glenn Kinley. The ‘Cats’ new leader talks building off a Pop-Tart Bowl win and where he’s finding his confidence.

Will KU men’s basketball be able to repeat the regular season Big 12 title? K-Nation’s Caroline Soro sits down with Jayhawk Sports Network’s Sean Kellerman to get an outlook on KU men’s hoops ahead of March Madness.

Before KU’s game against Baylor, one KU student walked away from ESPN’s College Gameday with a check for $19,000. And, one K-State men’s basketball player earned a scholarship spot for the rest of the season.

K-Nation airs every Sunday night on KSNT after 27 News at 10. It’s a 30-minute weekly sports special revolving around K-State and KU sports. Click here for more K-Nation content.
