Midian Shrine Center hosts chili cook-off, Big Game watch party

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Midian Shrine Center held a pre-Big Game chili cook-off on Sunday afternoon.

The judges tried all the chili and then voted on the best. The winner got a prize, though it’s not a Lombardi Trophy like the two teams in Las Vegas are competing for.

“This runs from like 1 to 4 today, and then over in our other room, in what we call the ‘Mecca’ Room’ or our ballroom, we will be watching the big Super Bowl game at 5:30,” Harold Brewer, the Potentate for the Midian Shrine Center, said.

The winner of the chili cook-off gets a $75 prize.

The Midian Shrine website says the Shriners are a “brotherhood of men committed to family, engaged in ongoing personal growth, and dedicated to providing care for children and families in need.”
