Find your next trophy catch with the 2024 Kansas Fishing Forecast

TOPEKA (KSNT) – If you’re looking to improve your fishing experience this year, be sure to grab a copy of the Kansas Fishing Forecast for 2024 for your tackle box before you head out to the lake.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has released the new forecast for prospective anglers to help them find the best places to start casting lines in 2024. The forecast categorizes fish by their density rating, preferred rating, lunker rating, biggest fish and biologist rating in Kansas’ lakes, reservoirs and ponds. Fish species listed in the forecast include:

Bluegill

Channel catfish

Largemouth bass

Spotted bass

Walleye

White bass

White crappie

Black crappie

Wiper

Sauger

Saugeye

Smallmouth bass

Striped bass

Redear sunfish

Blue catfish

Flathead catfish
