WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — There have been plenty of Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers fans making their way through Eisenhower National airport ahead of the Big Game going to Las Vegas.
Making the trip to Vegas has looked different for many different travelers when it comes to how much the trip has cost them.
“These are the most expensive flights I paid for, about $900, and we booked it last minute Wednesday night and we’re ready to go. It’s the Super Bowl in Las Vegas,” Chiefs fan Kurtis Klecan said.
One Wichita family already planned their trip to Vegas way in advance but they aren’t going to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs, they’re going to root on the 49ers.
“Well actually we planned this a year ago, we knew we were going to Vegas, we just didn’t know what teams were going to be there,” 49ers fan Teresa Vasquez said.
A Wichita couple is going to the Big Game in support of the Chiefs, but bought their tickets back in September when prices weren’t quite so expensive.
“As my anniversary gift in September, crossing our fingers that we will be there this weekend and the Chiefs will be there. So we got $215 round trip. We did, we beat the rush yeah! We’re staying a the Rio and we got some kind of a deal that is $160 a night.” Chiefs fans Trey and Maggie Jones said.
So far, flights from Wichita to Las Vegas have not had issues or delays. The airport is expecting a weekend rush of people trying to make catch the last flights to Vegas ahead of the Big Game on Sunday.
