8 February 2024

(WHTM) – Hundreds of thousands of Frigidaire refrigerators have been recalled following complaints of broken pieces that can result in laceration and choking hazards, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.

The recall affects approximately 383,240 “Frigidaire Branded Side by Side Refrigerators with Slim Ice Buckets,” according to the CPSC notice.

The issue, as described in the recall notice, concerns the refrigerators’ ice buckets, which contain components that can break and lead to broken plastic pieces being dispensed into the ice bucket.

The Electrolux Group, Frigidaire’s parent company, has received 343 reports the plastic components breaking. Two of the incidents resulted in laceration and ingestion injuries.
