8 February 2024
Our winds will still be breezy today ahead of our next system. Gusts may be around 30-35mph but will slowly taper off through the afternoon and evening. With that strong breeze and some sunshine, that’ll be enough to send our temperatures into the middle 60s this afternoon.
Later today, a cold front begins to move through the area, eventually pushing all the way through by Friday. This will shift our winds to the north and east, and bring a slim chance for a couple isolated showers Friday evening. Behind the front, temperatures will cool back into the upper 50s to near 60° for highs for the end of the week and 40s to start the weekend.
We’re eyeing a system for late weekend that may bring even chillier weather to the area. We’ll have more details as it gets a bit closer to us as the track of the system is still in question. Right now, the system passes by mostly to the south of us, but there’s a slight chance for some snow Sunday. The best chance for snowfall will be over the southern half of the state, including areas along and south of I-70 in our viewing area. After that system, we quickly clear and temperatures rebound into the 50s by the early to middle part of next week.
